CATARACT REFRACTIVE

Corneal topography is a process for mapping the surface curvature of the cornea, similar to making a contour map of land. Pentacam HR uses computerized Scheimpflug imaging technology to create a detailed 3-dimensional map for diagnosis, monitoring, contact lens fitting, and refractive surgery planning.
Corneal topography is a process for mapping the surface curvature of the cornea, similar to making a contour map of land.
The purpose of Pentacam-HR is to produce a detailed description of the shape and power of the cornea. Using computerized Scheimpflug imaging technology, the 3-dimensional map produced by Scheimpflug imaging helps diagnose, monitor, and manage various visual conditions.
The procedure itself is painless and brief. It is a non-contact examination that photographs the surface of the eye.
Pentacam eye test is not a routine test. Rather, it is used in diagnosing certain types of problems, evaluating a disease's progression, fitting some types of contact lenses, and planning surgery.
It is commonly used in preparing for refractive eye surgery such as LASIK and EpiLASIK.
PENTACAM is for diagnosis and management of various corneal curvature abnormalities and diseases such as:
We use the Pentacam Scheimpflug technology for LASIK data collection. This data helps decide the patient's treatment. Most equivalent equipment would test your eyes on 2 to 3 points, but the Oculyzer tests up to 25,000 points, giving us very accurate corneal thickness measurements.
